rear end ratio's for our cars

probably a stupid history question about our cars, but its been bugging me. what rear end ratio do our cars have. they vary by engine, and probably transmission. but, does anyone have a link to finding out rear end ratios?

Re: rear end ratio's for our cars

The only stock rear-end available for an '89 RS with a 2.8L is 3.42 (regardless if it's an auto or std).

For all the possible engine, model, drivetrain rear-ends offered, check out (as tweeker mentioned) the Camaro/Firebird Tech Data on our home page or the links at the bottom of this page. Select a year and scroll down.

The only stupid question is one that's not asked.

Re: rear end ratio's for our cars

Several things drove the axel ratio of a car:
1) Engine & Transmission
2) Body Type, IE a Formula or GTA with an LB9 & M5 ALL would have gotten the performance gear, THe trans Am or IROC would have had the axel as an OPTION. The L98 Usually had the 3.27 or 3.23 ratio pretty much standard on Firebirds, Camaros I think it might have been an option some years.
