Tan cloth interior over $1,000

What makes these seats so exspensive? I have them in my car and have seen them other places as well. How rare are they? The rear seats are currently going for over 700 dollars.http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/82-92...QQcmdZViewItem

Geez, apparently I've got a gold mine in my basement! Crazy

A couple years ago, I saw a set of overhead console screws sell for over $80.

I paid less than the current bid (of $1225.) for my WHOLE CAR! I don't see what's so special about those seats.

Re: Tan cloth interior over $1,000

I agree those are just custom cloth seats not even L/S Conteurs. The driver's side is just manual and not power. The back seats are being sold separatly and the current bid is $710 byt the same bidder. And even with the seats belts they shouldn't be any where near that money. But then a set of very nice '82 charcoal seat belts went for $255.The tan seats in my '83 are less common and in just as good or better shape.

EDIT:The seller just joined and only has 2 feedbacks. Also look at the 2 bidders one has no feedback and the other only 58(and they are the same two bidding on the back seats).Which 92RS makes a very good point.Possibly could be a scam on Ebay or Paypal.

Re: Tan cloth interior over $1,000

The kicker is the material does not even look like its original, the ripples in the cloth tells me it MAY have been recovered.

Re: Tan cloth interior over $1,000

There is no way this is a valid auction. You have a seller with low feedback and a bidder with no feedback and low feedback bidding back and forth. Looks like someone is trying to pull a scam.
----------
Also if you look at the detail for the bidding on the back seat, why would one bidder bid 8 times (from 50 to 700) on an item before anyone else bid on it?

I think that just means they were placing bids just trying to be come the high bidder, but they were automatically outbid.

If you look at the times of the bids, the first bidder bid 8 times before the second bidder bid for the first time. He was high bidder with his original bid, then decided to bid 100, 200, 300 etc. before a second bidder showed any interest. The times of the bids show that it wasn't someone just trying to become the high bidder.

Re: Tan cloth interior over $1,000

eBay will automatically bid for you, up to your max settig, and not show te other persons bid.

Like, you bid $50, but a max of $500. I come along and bid $100, you automatically out bid me, I go back and try $200...$300...$400...$500...Finally I out bid you at $600, but it won't show my other bids. Only the high bids, of your outbids.

Not saying it isn't a scam...Tan seats are hard to GIVE away. No way they'll go for over $1000!

eBay will show all of your bids. It will list a bid from you of $100, 200, 300, 400, 500, and then the increment above 500 that is the next available high bid i.e. 510. You will still have your bid of 600 in the system, and if someone comes along and bids 550, the system will increase your bid to 560, but only add one additional bid to the total.

example:

If I bid $500 on an item on 7/21/07 at 5 o'clock with a starting bid of $100 and a second bidder comes in at 6 and bids 150, then 200, ebay will show 3 bids on the item like in your explaniation; however, my bid will still have the time stamp of 5 o'clock.

In the auction that we are discussing for the back seats, l***n placed 8 bids between 10/20 7:10 and 10/21 13:23, while n***s placed their first bid on 10/21 20:01. If someone comes in and bids on the item below n***s highest bid than there will be a bid added, but the time and date stamp will not change for the bid from n***s.

That's what I just said, and you quoted me...

eBay auto bids for you, but doesn't show the other persons bid. Only the high bids.

Well if you look at them now they ended for .99 cents with no bids and just have been relisted back at 99 cents.

Re: Tan cloth interior over $1,000

I emailed the seller, turns out the bidders entered too many zeroes. They were actually $70 and $100. Thats why the auction was cancelled and started over. No bids now though.

Re: Tan cloth interior over $1,000

I was kinda getting excited for a minute, thinking that there was something special about the seats I'm selling, and maybe I could get that much for them.

I'm selling a full set of tan cloth IROC-Z seats out of an '87 that are in really good condition, and I think I'm asking a fair price of $300.

Blue Zee28 I've seen the ad for the seats you're selling and they look better and are less common than the ones on Ebay. It's funny the same mistake was made on both auctions by the same people so they had to be relisted.
