What does this mean??

I was polishing my wheels today and I noticed towards the center of the wheel there are these two letters that say MC. These wheels are the gold crosslace wheel that came with the my GTA. I am wondering what does the MC mean?

Re: What does this mean??

That site tells you what it is.

It is whatever the site says it is, because it's THEIR mark. It belongs to THEM.

You must not have seen very many aluminum wheels.

You'll observe, if you take the time to, that virtually ALL alloy wheels from any kind of reputable manufacturer, exhibit that mark. Maybe not all "spinners", or all that are on yerbasic high-school Honduhs; but virtually all reputable ones. Including the vehicle OEMs.

Re: What does this mean??

Well, thanks for your research, I was just curious as I was just doing a Sunday detailing of my car and observed a little mark. I did take the time to look at the site and it really doesn't go into deep detail, but hovers around the topic. I have had a couple of cars with aluminum wheels, but I wasn't looking for something so under the radar as two little letters. So, I got another question for you. Why is Japan approving wheels, for domestic cars? Don't get hostile, it is just a question; and you obviously know more than me, that is why I'am asking you.

Re: What does this mean??

It's just a set of standards. That "institute", whoever they are, agrees that the wheels meet whatever the standards are; and maybe that gives somebody a break on liability insurance or something. Just like various American or European industry associations (ANSI for example) set standards, and they're adopted world-wide.
