Need a quick RPO explanation- already deciphered
I need an elaboration on these codes and what in the world they are..
YT1- Build up and dwn qtr, custom.
A01- Window tinted, shaded w/s. My windows aren't tinted at all...is it refering to the T tops?
Also, did all T Top cars come with sunshades?

Depending on where you find your definitions they might not be correct. The best place to look would be a resource that dates back to the same time period as the car in question.
The tinted glass reference is correct. Autoglass is usually not crystal clear, but rather lightly tinted.
Good question on the sunshades. I'm fairly certain the early car did not come with them. Usually when you see them they're in the later cars, like 89-up.

Re: Need a quick RPO explanation- already deciphered
Starting with the advent of Air Conditioning in cars just about all cars with AC started coming with a slightly green tint to cut down on the heat in the interior... Why they did not include it with NON-airconditioned cars is beyond me. But by the 80's MOST cars came with light green windows regardless of AC or AC delete. INterestingly I have found references to WIndshields and windows for our cars which are supposedly "Clear", BUT in all my travels I have yet to actually stumble upon a set.
By GREEN tint, the color is VERY light and may not actually be noticable without taking a good look at them...
The YT1 I suspect is a Tire size option as Everything from YQL thru YUX are rear titre sizes. YU5 is a 3 year 50,000 warrenty. YU8 is a polished aluminum wheel, and YWE theru YWM are all rear tires...

Interesting info about the tint.
I thought I saw a greenish haze on my hatch(since its the biggest window) but I dismissed it thinking that if I posted what I thought I saw, I'd be regarded as an idiot.
John, do you know anything about the sunshades coming with T Top cars?
I was poking around a junkyard earlier today and saw the same code on another car. The set was actually IN the hatch! Moldy, but there.

A01 is tinted Windshield. The tint is at the top of the windshield unless it has been replaced with untinted glass. As for the shades, they did not come with ttop cars. They were available as aftermarket. I have passenger side in grey that have never been opened if you are looking for some.

I'd have to disagree. I'd nearly guarentee the shades were included on every ttop car by 1989. At the least they were an added cost option.
Edit: AO1 is NOT refering to the strip at the top of the windshield. It's all the glass in the entire car. Go to google and search for AO1. Also research soft ray tinted glass.

It took a little digging... Still not sure what year they became standard, but by 91 they were.

Actually I believe in 1987+ they came with the tops... at least for Pontiac... Chevrolet may have been different as many standard items on a pontiac were options on a chevy.
