How many 92 camaros were painted purple? Please help!

 

According to the "Camaro Whitebook" there were 8,588 Code 84(WA 9802) Purple Haze colored Camaros.On Camarosource.ca the same number is listed but it gives the color as Hawaiian Orchid/Purple Haze.Was Orchid the Pontiac name for the color I wonder.Anyone have a factory Purple '92 Firebird?

 

Off hand I would say that purple wasn't available on the Pontiac. Most of the time when you see multiple names for a color they're from GM, and the actual manufacturers of the paint.

 

there are 5 for sale locally here in michigan. teal and purple are the most common colors to see running around michigan. i have personally cut up 3 of them and currently own one.

not that it means a thing other then here they aren't too rare. however total that up with 8,000+ cars and all the states they aren't too common nationwide.

Thank you Okfoz for taking the time to supply the list.Well I was just wondering if Pontiac used the same color pallete as Chevrolet.I know that divisions were assigned colors in part due to sales of particular models.Basically just thinking(typing)out loud.I also noticed Pontiac didn't use Code 59 beige that's on my '83 Z28.
