Recently I found a 1982 Z28 Indy 500 Pace car at the boneyard.The car was mostly complete just missing the crossfire motor.I found the emblem still attached to the dash.Searched the rest of the car but could not find the insert.

 

That's a shame. It would be a nice addition to a collection.

 

It is a real shame as you dont find these everyday.I was very dissapointed but I had to take the piece I got anyway

 

did you get anything else cool off the car?

 

As far as I know the pace car is the same as a regular z28 except for color scheme and dash emblem.It also had decals on the pillars that say indianapolis 500 which you cant take.It did however have Z28 on the drivers side headrest.I left without it and it was gone the next time i went back

 

And the rims are the standard 15" Z28 rims, but with a red stripe around the rim.
