Were there two different 90-92 145mph speedos?
I got my hands on a 145mph cluster out of a 91 Z28 and since I hate the ugly yellow text I needed to order new overlays. I like the reverse glow ones because I like they way the look and don't rely on the crappy stock lighting. So when I got them and I went to install them I just checked to make sure the numbers lined up... and they didn't. The overlay numbers have more spacing in between them. So does anyone know if whoever made these just screwed up or if there were two different types of 90-92 145mph speedos?

I bought them off someone here, but I don't know where he got them. These same overlays are available on eBay and a bunch of other places. The same style 110mph overlays I bought of eBay matched up perfect.
While I have everyone here, does anyone know if the speedometer needle motors are the same in the 145mph and 110mph clusters? When I was trying to set the milage right on the 145 cluster I broke the odometer so I had to disassemble both of my speedometers and swap the odometer/motor assembly from my 110 speedo into the 145 speedo, so the needle had to be removed. When I put the needle back on (I did it with the car running and in park and the needle pointing half way between the bottom mark and the stopper) the motor moves needle up to the 5mph mark even if I pull it off and put it back in with it touching the stopper it moves it up. Now even when the car is off it shows 5mph. I don't know if I'm just putting the needle on wrong or if the motor is different. The speedo was approx. 10mph off before because of the new gears in the rear end.

Usually there's a hash mark off the edge of the guage to show you where to put the needle while the car is off. Or you can remove the plastic bezel and have a friend drive all over town doing exactly the speed limit and while you're following reach down and tweak the needle to where it needs to be.

I don't see any sort of has mark, there's the stopper peg and then the 5mph mark. I went to a dealer and bought the new speedometer gears to correct for the new gears in the rear end yesterday and I'll be putting them on tomarrow and then I can see how much the needle is really off. My dad also bought a new socket set and the sockets in it are a little deeper and they can get to the two screws that hold the odometer assembly together, so now if I have to I can swap out the needle motors.
