I don't know for sure, But I think I read a long time ago , the '85-89 2.8 and the '90-92 3.1's were built in Mexico, if you find the numbers on the block, you could tell for sure. Chris

OK I've read there are 2 sets of numbers on the v6 block- one set front and center above the water pump and one set on the rear near the distributor. I couldn't find the rear one but I did find the front set. It is A920714DKA
According to The Camaro White Book DKA is the suffix for 191ci. at, which is correct. Are the other numbers the date, July 14 1992? It would make sense if this is the date because my car was built on August 12. But what about the "A" is it possibly the shift or assembly plant?

I thought I was told a while back that mine was built in canada. But i could be thinking of something else. Eather way thought Id throw that out there.
