i got a 3rd gen!!!! (pics)

ive had it for 2 weeks now...and i love it! its a 1986 iroc-z and is so far in real good condition. ill post how much how much i payed for it once i get some comments....i think its a steal. im 17 and this is my 2nd car..i had to sell my 1981 c-10 stepside for it. as much as i loved that truck, this is a lot faster and more chick-magnet lol

also does anyone know if this somewhat rare? like how much could i get if i sold it(which i wont be doin) and if i would be safe doin some engine mods and keepin the appereance somewhat stock

heres the pics..p.s. thats my dads 75 bronco which i get to drive when im lucky

Looks pretty nice. Is that a 350 in there? If so, then that may be kind of a rare car. I don't think there were many 350s in '86. Just hold on to it for another 5 or 10 years and the value should shoot up pretty good.

And I think you'll find that it attracts more middle-aged construction workers than chicks...

Nice car, but it looks to be a Z28 not an IROC... and ScottyRS there were not 350s in 86. First IROC 5.7 was 87

to the board and the world of thirdgens. My first car back in 91, when I was 20, was a red TPI IROC with T-Tops. I loved that car, and just bought a Red 91 Formula 350 yesterday, with 95k orig mi for $2500 in great shape and love it as well. Thirdgens rock. Your car is a Z28 however, IROCs didn't have the twotone paint. Also the RPO code for IROC'S was B4U.

Actually it's B4Z. This code was used from 85-87. You can find it on the service parts identification label usually located inside your center console lid. From 85 to 87 the IROC-Z option was a seperate option above and beyond the Z28. No IROC-Z had two-tone paint. All Z28's had two-tone paint in these years. Them emblem on your back bumper could have easily been changed. I'd venture to say you have a Z28, not an IROC-Z. Best of luck with your new car.

I knew that B4U was the option for the 92 Firehawk. I bought a Firehawk look alike yesterday, and have Firehawks on my mind
