Are the VIN enough to know all your RPOs ?
is there something like a VIN DECODER but that also gives you the RPOs ?
cause i always wanted to know my RPos
but i cant find it
my VIN IS

The general consensus is that the only way to get the RPO's from the VIN is thru a GM dealer. However the rumor is that only 1990-up cars can be found in that database. You can find some of your cars RPO's on the buildsheets, if you can find any of them. Check the bottom of the seats, between the springs and the foam. Under the carpet, inside door panels, and on top of the fuel tank are other rumored locations for the build sheet.
Otherwise if you're dealing with a Pontiac, PHS might be able to help.

when I got my 1992 B4C I got a massive amount of documentation with it (some of it rare)to prove it is a B4C. but since the car was repainted and re-interiored I can't get the original option sticker or build sheet, can I get another? if so, where?

Car: 1984 Trans Am
Engine: GMPP 350 V8
Transmission: 700R4
Axle/Gears: 3.23
Check the top of your radiator support (in front of the fan). Early 3rdgens had buildplates, they stated the vin and a few RPO's (my 83, had color and a few options).
EDIT: I was able to decode several of my RPO's from the body tag, such as: color, T-tops, interiorcolor/trim, locking gas cap door, TransAm...
------------------
1983 TransAm *Sold*
1984 TransAm
1994 TransAm GT
1994 25th TransAm GT
1999 TransAm
1990 T-Bird SC
1971 Boss 351
Four TransAm's are not enough. Firebirds for all.

you can always get lucky like I did.
Couldn't find the RPO sticker in the center console, but found th eowners manual packet about a week ago. It had the manual, cpy of origonal title, dealership paperwork, & loan paperwork. One of the dealership papers is a worksheet with the RPOs on it, along with the prices for each & what the car was sold for & how much per month.
------------------
$150.00 2.8 Auto.
short block now
turbo eventually, 3.4 may be in the future
