Just thought that was neat! Sitting for 11 years... and look at that shine!
Is that paint original do you think?
Also, what interior is that? It looks neat!
Lastly, was 4 wheel disk rare in 84?
<drools over dual snorkel intake>

I would say that no the paint is not original. The GFX should not be body color...so who knows what else was repainted when the GFX were done...Rear discs were pretty common in 84. The interior looks like a clean stock 84 interior.

Very nice car indeed. If those are the original wheels then the GFX would have been silver. And you don't see many console clocks either.

console clocks were not common.. but they did not work very well either... I have an 84 z28... and if the gfx were silver (as the wheels would suggest) then the car color was more than like a silver/blue....

The hardest part about the console clocks is finding one that doesn't have a 2nd hand that curled up. I've got about 4 of those clocks, and not a single damned one of them has a good 2nd hand.

Aaron,GFX were either silver or gold from '82-'84(my '83's GFX is gold with gold wheels and her body color is beige).
My console clock works, the hour and minute hands are straight but I broke the end of the second hand trying to clean the face.I know now I should have left well enough alone. It's funny all Camaro consoles have the 3 mounting points for the clock(at least the ones Iv'e seen).

the above poster is correct.. the easiest wa to tell what color th GFX were on the car is to look at the original wheel color.. if it is silver, than the GFX were silver... the gold coler effects were sold on the dark cars while silver was on the light cars IIRC. although i am sure there were some oddballs..

LOL Angelis, then mine is one of the oddballs. Her color code is 59 beige and as stated before she has the gold GFX and gold wheels.

The gold was a package. It was available on a few colors regardless of shade. There were gold cars, brown cars, white cars, cream and black with gold gfx. I might have missed a color, but it wasn't tied to the light vs. dark scenario given.

I think i mentions that it could be on other colors. however with the package one would also be inclined to thing that the color scheme a person would choose for the gfx would be in cordination with the color of the car. In order to be more appealing to the eye... Anywho.. it doesn't mater a huge bunch i guess.. since no one hardly ever leaves them the stock color anyhow now.

I don't think you got a choice on GFX color.Maybe you could chose wheel color to complement the body color. And then that dictated GFX color. It doesn't mention anything about it in the '83 dealer brochure. But then when you sat down to order one it could have been on the order sheet.Does anyone have a build sheet for an '82-'84 that shows a wheel/GFX color code? There are many people that would be very interested in that code. The trim tag on my '83 shows 59L and 59U for the beige. But nothing for the gold.Yes silver would kind of look bad,IMHO,with beige but like Angelis said anything is possible. It's like the recommended interior/exterior color combos. They tried to discouraged you from making certain choices I'm guessing(or just making it easier for the production line).

The only noteworthy part of that car is the HO/5spd.
There's nothing unusual about it, or really interesting... Its just a garden variety used Camaro.
Someone drove it till they got tired of it, parked it in a building and left it there for 10 years. Big deal. It's been repainted, its rusted since then, the door moldings are wrong, the center console armrest is cracked, the seats need to be reupholstered, the engine bay is filthy, the tires are shot...
I don't get it, why was it even posted here?

Went to the spring swap meet in Daytona today and ran across a complete console with a working clock. Guy wanted 125 bucks, said it came out of a car that had 18,000 miles on it when wrecked. Had a nice console cover too...Almost bought it from, probably should have but was running short on funds.
