1993 iroc ?
i was dumbfounded yesterday while watching a rerun of the last episode from the last season of the sopranos yesterday (they are showing last season to get every1 caught up for the beginning of the new season today !! woohoo !!) .
but anyway , Christopher was getting into some guys car outside of what it think was a MacDonald's and got into a 4th gen stile camaro and on the door it said IROC ?
i am just wondering if the car they had on the set was 1 some1 slapped an iroc sticker onto or if there actually was somthing like a 93 iroc with the newer body stile ?

The IROC R/T and Spirit R/T were great cars. I had a 92 Spirit R/T and it went 14.4@99 the only time I had it to the track back in 93 when it was completely bone stock. The Daytona's were supposed to go .1 better because it wasn't a brick.
Nobody knew what the heck those things were back then, probably still don't today. Both would do over 140mph stock. 0-60 in under 6 seconds. They were really incredible cars.
Beat many a V8 back then with it Bought mine after selling the Grand National. The Spirit was the fastest 4 door production car for quite a few years. Also, the ad of the day for the Turbo III was it was the most powerful engine Chrysler ever made per cubic inch.

Car: 1991 Z-28
Engine: Can you say stroke?!?!
Transmission: 700-r4

Yeah, those "Iroc" Daytona's were fun. When I worked for dodge our service manager's wife got one that dodge had worked over for her. Street legal and fast as hell. I guess when you have connections with dodge for over 30 years you can get anything.

There was a 1993 Pace car Z28, it was two tone black and white. Maybe that's what you saw?

I have seen that episode too. Keep in mind that you are dealing TV and movies and the concept of artistic license. The producer or whoever was in charge of casting vehicles for the show probably said Vinny (That was the name of this actor's character when he played in Doogie Hauser M.D.) should drive a Camaro, assuming that all Camaros of that vintage are IROCs.
This person sees the car that shows up, a 1993, three years after the International Race of Champions and GM have parted ways, and says "How come it does not say IROC on the door?" The person responsible for obtaining the shows vehicles explains "you did not SAY you wanted an IROC Camaro" and the producer probably responds "The car is fine, but when we start filming tomorrow, I want it to say 'IROC' on the door". So, the person in charge of cars, obtains a set of reproduction decals and applies them to the door of the 1993 Camaro. I have a set of these myself which have yet to be applied to my Camaro, but if I wanted to, I could stick them on my wife's Corolla.
Also keep in mind, that Trans Ams and Camaros of this vintage have long been associated with Italian Americans. For a good example of this see the Movie "While you were Sleeping". It even goes so far that there is a joke that IROC actually stands for "Italian R$#&!@ Out Cruizin". (Note:To the moderators and those that read this post PLEASE do not take this as an ethnic slur on my part. My wife and daughter are of Italian Heritage and I present this information only to possibly explain the sterotypes involved, not celebrate them.) The Sopranos itself dealt with Ethnic Sterotypes and role models after two of the actors from the show were uninvited as participants in one city's Columbus day Parade.

To answer the question....
The last IROC-Z was a 1990 model year car. The Sopranos did have a 4th gen, not sure of the year, with IROC-Z decals on the door. It was a 93-97 model. Since that car was a 4th gen and Chrysler products don't fall into the 3rd gen lineup, this post will be locked. Oh, and because the question was answered!
