weird trim color RPO, any ideas???

ok my car is black with med. dark gray interior, the silver IROC logos on the doors, and the silver and black trim stripes around the ground effects. i just ran through all my RPo codes on the decoder and came up with this weird one. RPO 86A. it shows up in the decoder as: 86A : STRIPE COLOR, ACCENT, TWO TONE RED/GUNMETAL (91)

Red and Gunmetal????? whats up with that? glitch in the RPO decoder or something else??? what do you think?

Hey, its you again! Don't worry Kyle I have the same problem and cannot for the life of me figure out exactly what badge they are referring to. I thought it may have been something to do with the dash badge since it has red and crap in it, but I really don't know

I have no clue- its probably like that so people like us can scramble around trying to find out what the heck it means- all the gm people in charge of that stuff are laughing at us right now!

I have A black 87 Iroc, that I just bought, I went through the RPO codes and noticed the same thing. My guess is all black Irocs are like this. I think GM intended to put a brick red/gun metal stripe on black cars but never did. A black/silver stripe on a black car is kind of silly, at least the black part!

I think GM may have wanted to put a red and silver stripe on black IROC's. The black part of the silver/black stripe doesn't show on a black car. I have seen red and black on IROC's too. If camarochicks car is blue then maybe all IROCS are coded this way.

I think that the code in the thirdgen decoder is for '91 (note the 91 in parenthesis at the end of the description), and that same rpo code may have designated a different color scheme in earlier years. Unfortunately my '88 master rpo book doesn't cover paint or stripe color codes unless they are part of a special package, so I can't help verify one way or the other, this is only an educated guess.
