Factory upholstery

I've been getting factory white leather for my Z28 through the dealer I work for due to random small scuffs, and me being a perfectionist Anyway, I've had no problems ordering any interior item I have needed.

Is it possible to still get factory upholstery for my RS? It looks great, but is a little faded. If I can still get it, I wanna hoard it now and replace it a few years down the line when I really need to.

Has anyone tried to get upholstery through GM? Can I get the seat covers the same way I have been ordering them for my Z (re-wrapping the foam with new leather)? Before I send my parts guy on a goose chase, I just wanna know what kind of hassle it will be to get factory upholstery. BTW, I have the custom cloth, medium grey upholstery in the '89.

Thanks to anyone who can help!

Good luck, I'd venture a guess that factory seat covers are long discontinued and would run close to $500 if the dealer still had them. The only real way to find out is to ask a parts counter guy.

Jason you are not the one that needs seat covers! They don't have burn holes from pot do they? The 83 is what needs them.

lol...hi Matt. Haven't seen you here in awhile Yeah, I can't say I have pot holes in the seats like the '83, but you know me...I like perfection

Anyways, to revive this post a little, does anyone know of an AFTERMARKET source for cloth upholstery? There has to be someone out there, seeing as how the newest of these cars is 10 years old. The only repro upholstery I have yet to find are the '82-'85 vinyl interior kits available through Classic Industries. Has ANYONE here tried to redo their cloth in original trim??

I'm pursuing the possibility and reality of refinishing seats in original upholstery, but I'm working with a firebird rather than a Camaro. The fabric used in the Firebirds (and several other 80-90's Pontiacs) is out of production and sources are becoming harder to find. Luckily I have an upholstery master in the family so I was able to find what I needed. But, the foam still remains a problem. GM seats have problems with the foam breaking down, and the seats loose comfort. Unfortunately I haven't yet found a source for replacement foam.
