1984 T/A CenterCaps.

My 84 was originally equipped w/ N24 wheels (silver, w/ blue in the spokes). When my father got the car it had centercaps w/ a gold bird.(car currently has 16x8 ARE's) I recently saw another clean 84 w/ the 15" High-tech turbo wheels which also had gold birds in the center caps. My car has silver decals and bird logo's, the other 84 had black decals and bird logo's. I always thought a car w/ all that silver trim and decals should have silver centercaps or atleast one that matches the whole scheme of the car. So anyone have any feedback on this?

Also I know of a very clean 83 w/ gold N24 wheels and silver centercaps (shouldnt they be gold)?

Whats the story why dont they match? Did they match from the factory? Any help is appreciated.

Four TransAm's are not enough. Firebirds for all.

Ironic that I'm writing because my car is an 82, yet its wheels are known 83's. They are N24's as well, with full gold fins yet silver center caps. I don't know why they don't match, so I can't answer your question. But basically the first owner of my car disliked the N89 wheels my car ad, so in early 83 or so he swapped for these N24's and I know they are "original" as far as 1983 goes.

To complicate things, some painted varieties of N24 had shaved outer fin edges while others had full painted fins. Mne happen to be the full painted ones. I still have not figured out patterns for this discrepancy...

Here's some pix:

I hope this helps.
