GTA repro interiors.....where are we at?
Awhile back Frankie and 92GTA got the word out that repro GTA interiors (actually only the seat leather) would be available from Atlanta Buick Specialties.
Has anyone sucessfully installed these into their car? Does anyone have any pics or any experiences to pass along?

Apone, I haven't heard the latest on these covers from ABS....
They were going to have to get a "group purchase" up and going for 20 sets in order to get the upholstery manufacturer to do it at all. But I haven't heard anything since then. I believe there were still some issues with available seat styles and such as well.
I'll try to contact ABS and see what is going on right now with this project. I haven't abandoned it by any means... just been really busy on the farm of late and haven't had much of a chance to follow-up on it. Sorry....

Frankie is correct, the manufacuar won't do it unless they have atleast 20 orders. We are trying to sell the first 20 as soon as possible and we are even selling them at cost! We haven't had much luck thus far so I'm trying to get Roy from Thirdgenresource to help me find buyers. Also in the begining we won't have the split rear seat configuration or the Notchback style with the headrests available but they will be as soon as we can blow out these first 20 sets!
You can order them here:

I personally drove down to LA to see what kind of work these guys do and it is top of the line, you will not be disapointed!

OK, I just got a couple questions first.
Now I got Beechwood with the standard 1 piece backseat so it shouldn't be a problem correct?
Do they have the correct perforated leather in the middle of the seat? And what are we looking at for time frame here??? How many are sold so far?
Just FYI. I had some of the side bolsters and stuff fixed on the fronts a couple years ago, it cost me damn near $600. $300 for leather, $300 labor. They didn't touch the perforated stuff at that time... well the perforated stuff blew out after 2.5 years of my fat butt and 31000 miles. So I went back to the upholstery shop with my leftover 1/4 hide (out of 1/2 hide I had to buy before) of regular beechwood leather and they told me it'd be another $300 to get all the perforated stuff and they didn't want to touch the back seat which is starting to split at the seams at the top of the seat... plus another $300 for labor.
So it's an all around better deal for me to get all new seat covers. New covers plus $300 labor for all around... works out better I suppose.
Lemme know and I'll put in the order.

Yes they can perfectly match the perforated leather in the middle of the seat. Yes they can do regular GTA front seats and the one piece back seat right now and match the factory color. We only have a couple orders at this point and it is moving very slow. It could be a couple of months before we have all of the orders that we need to start Any help would be appreciated because once we get the first 20, we can pattern the 2 piece back seats and the headrest version of the back seat and one set may be bought at a time so there is no wait.....

I'll donate my 2 piece back seat if it gets me a resonable discount on a set, but I have little to no interest in ordering until 2 piece back seats are available.

Ok...well this has nothing to do with the seat covers...but it does have to do with GTA seats. Since you all have GTA's how much do you think a set of black cloth GTA seats with power lumbar from an '89 is worth? I was told they are in mint condition. He wants $270. Is that fair? Let me know. The only problem is that the headrest doesnt stay in the up position..but it doest tilt. Also..how would I wire the seats to my car? I have an '83 TA..and how would I adjust the lumbar? I have power seats in my car now. Thanks.

Man, only two orders? I was afraid of that happening...
I'm with Jim on it though... there really isn't any need for me to consider ordering any covers until the split rear seatback is available; all three of my GTAs are split seatback models. I want to convert my gray T-top GTA to leather when it is finished, but I can't feasibly order until the other configuration is available.
