Questions about history tough one here
I just found out that the last thirdgen to roll off the assembly line was a red heritage L98 Z28. Does anyone know what the first 1982 car was that rolled off the line?

I WOULD RATHER PUSH A CAMARO THAN DRIVE AN IMPORT
1983Z28 350w/ edelbrock performer RPM power package , dynomax shorty headers, 700R-4 with shift kit, 750cfm carb, edelbrock 3" exhaust system, 16" IROC rims and ASCD SS hood.
future mods:
SLP headers, completely done over suspension, black paint with flames, NEW PLAN IN THE MAKING:
BUILD A WILD CHEVY 302 JUST LIKE THE ORIGINAL Z28 HAD

A Chevette? Sorry couldn't resist.
Actually, I've never seen or heard anything about that. Its been my understanding though (no proof, so don't quote) that the Z/28 came out a little later in the year, and not right at the beginning, so if true then the first '82 would have been a sport coupe or Berlinetta. I do know that it was months after the Camaro's introduction that I saw my first Z. I saw lots of sport coupes before that. I'm sure someone here must be able to verify this much at least.

I had read in a magazine article that job #1 was a gold Z28, LG4 hardtop car. It was used for R&D purposes. I have that article around here somewhere and if I run across it I'll post more details.
