1986 Trojan TA??
I was at a car show today, and saw what seemed like a Trans Am, but with all new body panels....the front and rear quarter panels were flared out beyond belief, there was a notchback-like hatch, Recaro seats, new front fascia and hood and what loooked like aftermarket wheels. The owner had a piece of paper in a frame with a pic of the car, and it said soemthing about how the "Trojan" was a factory option, and only 500 or so were built total in 1986. Is this bulls**t, or is it credible? I have never heard about this car in my life. Anyone have any guesses?

Its Tojan, no R... Anyway they're a high end kitcar. They show up on Ebay every so often. There's also a Tojan registry and enthusiast group I believe. When you get right down to it, they're a hideous 80's creation that was based on Pontiac Firebirds. The people that own them seem to like them but you don't see anyone screaming about how badly they want one.
Last one I saw on ebay was starting at $17,000 with ZERO bids.

And

Their only real claim to fame was being used on Miami Vice... I believe they were all made by one company, similar to how ASC built the convertibles, but it definitely wasn't a factory option.

Just curious. Where is the "ram air"? It looks like a speed density system not ram air. Just like on my 305. Probably a sticker added after the 4th gen when ram air became popular again. Speaking of which I saw a Jacked up suburban with a ram air hood yesterday. I laughed so hard I almost wrecked.

sad to say there was only 2 black ones ever made... compared to the rest of the tojans though, the black ones are beautiful... their lines seem to flow together a lot more and the thing looks genuinely better than the reds and whites n whatnot...
Theres one for sale out here in a car lot... apparently they're fairly valuable because some crackhead bought it and turned around and sold it up the street for $20k more or something like that, LOL
