87 z28 camaro notchback, is this true

i recently found a 1987 camaro z28. just a regular old z28 right. wrong. this baby has a notchback. the guy said it's a ferrari style wing or something like that. is this factory and could be rare. let me know quick. because if its rare then i'll hop on it. thanx

No, that Notchback Camaro is not a factory offering..... Sorry.

Only GTAs were built with that option.

The notchback was produced (aftermarket) for a quite a few years before GM put one on the 'bird. I don't know if Pontiac used one of the aftermarket companies for theirs, or produced their own. They look pretty good imho.

Notchback hatches were offered only on GTAs in '88. About 650 cars were sold w/the "Ferrari-back"trunks. About as many Notcback hatches were available through GM parts department at your local dealership. It proved to be an un-popular option so it was cancelled for'89.
I got one of the GMs originals on my Formula. I think it looks great. Check out my pics.
