Weight of convertibles
I am wondering if any of you have weighed your convertibles. I saw someone say that they weigh over two ton's with a normal sized person. Is this correct? I weighed mine on a certified scale and with alot of stereo equipment,(subs, 3 amps, a full tank of gas, and almost all the options for a rs that year) and my car weigh's 3470 without me in it. I was just wondering if any of you weighed yours. Thanks

Mine must be overweight or something, my mechanic weighed my car with a 1/4 tank of gas, full sized spare, some tools and no one inside, it tipped 3650. some tools is about 150lbs of them so thats 3500 with quarter tank. Fill the tank(say 8lbs/gallon)12gallons=96lbs round 100, and put me in it 185 round 200 and I would say 3800lbs. With tools it puts the car to 3950...close enough ![](https://www.thirdgen.org/messgboard/biggrin.gif)

As far as my comment on over 2 tons, it was an exageration. GVW is around 34-3500lbs and put a few people in it and a full tank of gas and well you then have a 2 ton plus car. I usually have 3 people in the car so, its well over 2 tons ![](https://www.thirdgen.org/messgboard/biggrin.gif)

Mine has the rear seats, aluminum spare, and
the stereo stuff. Sorry if seemed like I flamed you at all, it wasn't meant. I have had my car so far apart and it seems like they are all slighly different in the back where the mod's are made. I wonder how much they vary from car to car. Just neat to know what some other's weigh. Thanks
