Who here collect thirdgen magazine advertisements?

Does anyone here collect thirdgen magazine advertisements? I have started collecting camaro magazine ads. I only have 6 at the moment. I did some research and compiled a list of camaro ads. Does anyone know how many where produced? Also If anyone has any I would like to hear what ones you have and how many. I would also like to start a firebird advertisement list but the firebird ads seem harder to come by. If anyone has any firebird ads would you mind posting the ads title and year of the ad.

Having seen George's collection of literature, I think it would take him years to catalog all the ads he has. I think its safe to say he has all of them, lol.

Hey Dan!
Not true!
I'm missing the one of the 25th Anniversary Trans Am that you picked up!
I did get the '79 Trans Am one page ad from the New Yorker magazine, not to long ago.
When you coming back out, to help get everything in order?

Hi 91rsowner4life!
The Firehawk ad was in 1992 magazine!
I have seen your pictures in another post I believe.
Sometime, I will take pictures of all my posters!
Sorry, but being a Trans Am guy, all I have are Trans Am/Firebird stuff.

Does anyone have the other 1987 Formula Ad where it states a limited production of 1500 Units. If you look on the newer ads they still have the reference to a limited production, but there is no note below...

John I guess I have the newer 87 Formy add, it only mentions limited production. No mention of 1,500.

Yellow 87 Formy 350 posed infront of a black racecar trailer with a T/A drag car inside the trailer. (I actually have this ad hanging in my bedroom, lol)

The text at the bottom of the ad was probably changed like John mentioned.

I have seen plenty of ads with variations of the same picture. Different text, or an airbrused photo.

I have never seen 1500 mentioned, but as for the other ad, it really doesn't say the Formula will be limited, just the 350 engine has limited availably. As did Trans Ams, and GTAs that year.
Can you post a picture of the 1500 ad?

I had a copy of one on my hard drive a long time ago. But my drive crashed and I lost it but it was there... I think there may have been actually 3 different ads, as I thought there was an asperisk "*" behind the Limited Availability in the type.

That's cool John!
I have some one page 1982 Trans Am ads from Playboy magazine (and you guys thought the magazine was just to look at naked girls!! ), that had different words in the center box, and at the bottom of the ad, stated "see your local Southern California Pontiac Dealer".
Always made me wonder if there were different ads in the Playboy magazine with other areas being listed?
Anyone else ever seen these?

George

Hey Nick,

You posted in this thread I made back in 2004...but in case you forgot or lost it here it is:

https://www.thirdgen.org/techbb2/sho...hreadid=267482

For anybody else who is interested that link has original articles scanned in concerning:

-1988 IROC-Z (both L98 & LB9) versus 1988 Mustang GT and LX 5.0's.

-1988 IROC-Z 'Vert versus 1988 Mustang GT 'vert

- 1991 Article about the new 1991 Camaro Z28 and 1991 Firebird Formula.

-1988 Sport Coupes

-1988 Camaro Convertible advertisement.

-1991 Pontiac TransAm Convertible

There might have been more, it's been a long time since I made the post.

Hope this helps.

James

86 - Trans AM - What would you expect a guy called "the California Flash to drive?"

88 GTA - 5.7 Thundering Liters of legendary, ultra-serious sport coupe
88 Trans AM & Camaro - Dr Jekyll / Mr Hyde

I have several for the third gen Trans Am, including 15th anniversary T/A ads. (I think it may be a good year ad with the anniversary T/A on it)

I'll have to start scanning them and upload, but it'll be a couple of weeks as I'll be travelling for work

I also have a bunch for 1st, and 4th gen pontiac F-bodies, but are they of any interest on a third gen forum?
