Replacing a convertible Top.....
Hello.... I know this subject is all over the board.... but could anyone give me tech tips on the actual installation of a new convertible top. I know Frobozz mentioned something about a helm manual.... where can I get one? Is there anything to keep in mind while installing? Anything that would make the installation easier.... any info would be much appreciated.....

One place would be ebay. I looked for a couple of weeks and never could find one for my year. So I called Helm Pub. and was told that the were out and they didn't know when, if at all, they would have any more. The lady I talked to gave me two numbers to call. Faxon Auto Literature was one place and that is where I got my manual, the other place I never called and couldn't tell you who they were. Faxon had what I wanted, so I bought the manual right then and there. Faxon's number is 800-458-2734.
Replacing just the top will be easy to do, it's a bitch to replace all the weatherstripping and padding as well. Right now the only thing I can tell you about installing the top is wait untill you have a good 3 to 4 days of sunny 70* weather.

Just thought about something. In my opinion its good to have a helm manual, but if you are just looking for the convertible top replacement, I can can scan the pages involving the top and email them to you if interested. At least it will give you an idea of whats to be expected.
email me privately.

Can the scanned pages be posted on this board with the reply? I have a Chilton's manual, but can not figure out how to attach the file along with the reply.

No problem
I will be scanning pages tonight then posting them on photopoint, I will post URL when I am done. Keep in mind I am doing this only so that others have some sort of reference.
