According to the camaro white book G92 included N10... it was an option package. One more day to fight this out guys.

It's all over??? Oh no!!!!! Is the "fat lady" singing yet? HA HA HA HA..... Seriously though, you think I came into this thread trying to educate you guys? NO WAY! I like to listen and learn. However, when the BS starts to fly off the fan, so to speak, I just gotta step in. No pun intended. LOL
I was just simply offering some info on the 205hp vs 230hp LB9s. For some reason, you took offense to that. Maybe it's because I challenged the "misconception" you have about a factory exhaust system adding 25hp over another. I don't know.
Have I been proven wrong? When? Where? How? Do you have "official" GM documents supporting your claims? Did you work at GM powertrain division back in the late '80s early '90s? Have you actually taken out the CAMS of a few ORIGINAL untouched 205hp '91-'92 Z28s, measured the cam specs, and found the cams to be the (G92)LB9/L98 profile? Have you performed multiple dyno comparisons of the two engines on various stock '91-'92 Z28s? Nope, you just have more baseless claims. Just because a few here agree with your unsubstantiated claims doesn't mean you're right.
To those who think otherwise, RPO (G92) on '87-'92 F-bodies was generally, depending on application, more than JUST an axle-ratio option.
Cheers!

this is just a comment on the tires when i used to bust tire at a local shop i changed quite a few 3rd gen tires. All of the Z/28's 87 and up had 245/50zr16 and most that i seen were originaly eqiuped with gatorbacks from the factory but i cant remeber if all were. the rs line with the 110 speedo came with an optional package that had 235/55tr16. That is the reason for the 113 speed limiter.

Sorry 9177, From 85-89 or so the standard 16" tire was a V rated 245/50. For 91-92 the standard Z28 tire was a 235/60R16, with the 245's optional. The only Camaro that ever got a Z rated 245 standard was the Z28 convertible.

That looks pretty conclusive that all 90-92 Z's had the same cam! I assume that is the same thing my buddy at the parts counter was refering to.
Is everybody in agreeance that the sole difference between 15.50 and 14.50 timeslips that the stock 305 Z's get is the exhaust and gearing from the G92 option? I know there is always room for driver error but it seems pretty solid that some 305 Z's ran mid 14s and others ran mid 15s. The G92 seems to be the only explanation.

According to Pontiac the dual cats were good for 13% more power... that would easily make up the difference, in my opinion.

WRONG. There is NO DIFFERENCE between the (LB9) 305TPI and the (LO3) 305TBI exhaust manifolds. They are EXACTLY the same. The Y-pipe on single-cat 205hp LB9s was 2 1/4" not 2". The cat converter was 2 1/4", but it was a "high flow" unit similar to the G92 LB9s and B2L/L98s. The "primary" pipe, or cat-back pipe, was 2 1/4" in diameter while the two rear pipes coming out of the muffler were 2" in diameter.
PS: to quote something, use /quote to end it, not endquote.

I accedentaly put the zr in the 245/50. I left out info i dont know what year the flat 16" rim came on the z's but with these rims came the 235/55/16. why the change i have no idea but not very many company's make this size in very high perfomance tread. You were 100% right on the v rated tire i was looking at the chart on the Y body.
