Any GM Employees out there?

Hi,
My father in law is a retired GM exec and one of his benefits is the privelage of buying cars at GM cost for himself and immediate family - Buyback (which includes daughters). I was wondering if anyone knew approximately how much of a discount on a 4th generation car (T/A) one might expect. Without a ballpark idea I am not sure how interested I am in getting a new one. Just an idea - I am not looking to cost anyone their job but I also don't want to waste the inlaws time.

Decisions, Decisions...
Thanks

Robin

I know the deal seems almost too good to be true (although that's not why I married my wife...) but I just don't have any idea how much one might save which is important in getting a car loan and deciding whether the payments are worth trading my current pride and joy. I was wondering about avg % in relation to MSRP. Would it be 10%, 15% more?

Thanks

I don't know the percentages for a fourth gen, but when third gens were new, the employee discount was 15 percent off the base price and 18 percent off options. Corvettes in the same time frame were 18/21 percent. There was no discount on the destination charge.

No trade-in was accepted when using these discounts. So the drawback is you have to pay full tax on your purchase price.
