Wikipedia's Third Gen Information

I know what you are thinking, "What is Wikipedia?"

Well, it is the store house for knowledge on the internet in encyclopedia form. It's amazing the information they have there on just about everything. Also, the way they allow folks to contribute is very cool as well.

Anyway, here is the entry for the Firebird:

Firebird Info

Pretty comprehensive although I am sure we could augment this.

Here is the information on the Camaro that already includes what I have seen about the 5th gen.

Camaro Info

Just thought I would share. There are no entries specific to the "F Body" nore is there anything I could find directly linked to "Third Gen F Body" but I suppose these are covered in the links above. I use Wikipedia all the time when I need more information than what a Google search will show.

That's a nice find.Only time I've used "Wikipedia" is looking up "Star Trek".But it is a most impressive resource for doing research.

Have you actually scrolled down after looking at that Camaro link? Theres a whole section on each generation and a small history noting major changes along the way. Also near the bottom, there is a whole write up and links for the 2006 concept and links to Camaro related web sites. Guess what is site #2 listed..... TGO.

Too much info on the Firehawk, great car but was a sales failure and not worthy of 80% of the 3rd gen Firebird history.

Wiki is quite possibly the best study resource in the world. And they have info on every damn thing. Seriously.

I also like how at the bottom of the Camaro page, they say we have a "high-quality" forum.

Re: Re: Wikipedia's Third Gen Information

I stand corrected.

Does the site need to be revised to include the 5th generation or are they calling the new Camaro a different platform?

They might be waiting to see if GM actually puts it into production.

Also, the wierd thing is that I have yet to hear anyone refer to it as an "fifth-gen F-body." Everyone uses the term "fifth-gen Camaro." Possibly due to the notable lack of a Pontiac model.

I wouldn't trust Wikipedia 100% especially if your are doing research for school and such...Wikipedia is set up so anyone can put in any information at any time. Basically if you have knowledge on a certain topic, person, etc...you can add your entry, and some people have been know to alter or just plain make up stuff. It's been reported in the news a few times about people just making up complete lies on stuff, but I guess wikipedia is trying to come up with solutions so it cannot be abused.

I found that a few weeks back, thought about making a whole section for the 87-92 Formula.
