3rd Gens on Miami Vice Pilot circa 1983
LOL
It was raining and I was stuck at home. Turned the channel and found TV land that was playing the original Pilot for Miami Vice... the episode where Crocket from Miami PD...meets Tubs who's working undercover as a NY City cop that is bending the rules to avenge his brother's murder at the hands of a Miami drug dealer king pin. You know the story
Well...crocket peels off in a 1982/83 Z-28 Camaro that's white in color with strange gaudy graphics on the side and the hood stickers "painted over"--you could see that they were black at one time. He's chasing Tubbs whose motoring a $100,000 speed boat..unbeknown to Crocket that he's a COP... Later in the ACTION PACKED episodes...Tubs is seen getting into a jet black TA that looks like a dead ringer for "KIT" on knight rider. Both Z-28 and T/A peeled off and appeared to have about 120 more HP then they came out of the factory..not to mention the "racy" exhausts were anything but "smog days" stock. Really funny stuff seeing the 82 Z racing a speed boat!!!
A better movie that has a IROC Z is DEEP COVER with Lawrence Fishburn. The rival Drug dealer drives up in a Black IROC-Z with his pimp g/f in the driver's seat. Really cool stuff.

It is funny to watch "older" shows like that. And to watch them now and of course the kick to nostalgia remakes."Knight Rider" has been on TV-Land and UHD this weekend with the pilot.I have the first season of "Miami Vice" on dvd and I wouldn't mind having a Daytona conversion Vette like that. It's said Ferrai was so upset they donated a new Testarrosa to the production company. The "Rockford Files" has always been one of my favorite shows. And James Garner did most of his own stunt work.Ben Stiller supposedly did his stunt work in the "Starsky & Hutch" movie and he's the one that tears the front up in the outtakes at the end.

Interesting... the TA that Tubs was hoping in was probably one of those..it even had those dome style hub caps and air induction on the drivers side thingy on the hood.
WHATS EVEN BETTER!!! I took my IROC to the "America's Tire Company" to have a flat repair on my other ride (tire in back hatch)... there was this cutie workinga the the counter--- nice ***** and tight jeans- she did a couple lean overs so that I could see her package.. then she starts with the
"I really love the IROCs and the Fox Bodies of the 80s... the new stuff has too much of that scoop/spoiler crap on it..."... Wow!!! Marriage material LOL.

If he's like that other guy and says that getting his tires is more important than getting her number, I'm going to leave this forum.

I had completly forgotten about the Targa Z28 on "Simon & Simon".That was a really nice conversion although did they ever show her with the top on?Along with the Dodge Power Wagon and the '57 Bel Air.
