ASC convertible production picture...

Here is a shot of '87 F-body convertible production at ASC in '87. They built the Buick GNXs at the same plant during this time.

Are you sure it was 87? I thought the first year for factory authorized firebird/trans am convertibles was 1991? That does look like an 86 -87 trans am rear though, could this be an aftermarket job.

Uh no, the picture was taken 8/21/87. There was a line of both Camaros as well as Firebirds being converted at ASC on this date.

I called them in reference to production numbers. Can you believe a company like ASC kept absolutely no records? Amazing. So I have to search for all 1254 1992 Z28 convertibles by conventional methods, it could take years and cost thousands of lives.

The honest truth is that ASC did and still does keep very good records. This is especially important for current warranty purposes. The reason that you were not handed all production numbers on silver platter is that you are dealing with a situation that took place, at a minimum, 9 model years ago. It is simply not a priority to them anymore. ASCMcLaren Capri and Mustang owners as well as GNX owners are running into the same "wall" as far as production numbers and/or specs are concerned from ASC.
