Greek number in 8th digit of vin?

Transmission: 4L60E w/ shift kit
Axle/Gears: 3.23s
Greek number in 8th digit of vin?
Looked like an 8, but it wasn't an 8. Sort of like a half circle for the bottom part of an 8.
It was a plain looking Firebird (Not a Formula), I've been looking around, and it looked very strange :S

Car: 1987 IROC-Z
Engine: 5.7L V8
Transmission: TH700R4
Axle/Gears: 3.73 Borg Warner
Run it through CarFAX or something with an 8 in the digit and see if it comes back. Or, find another place on the car where the VIN is listed and check that. If shows as an 8, then it was probably just a screwup when they stamped the VIN plate.

A part of the rear was really rotted. I walked away.

Base firebirds could get an S with the V6, not sure about other years but for 87-89 for sure.

'86s had an S for the 2.8 MPFI, I believe that '85s did also since they were MPFIs as well, same bumpers just different taillights.

You were probrably looking at the 9th digit actually. I just did the same thing not too long ago when i was looking at a parts car 88 Iroc. Looks like an odd looking 8 with a flat top, but was in the 9th digit. Made me think i was looking at a factory L98 car for $300 complete
