Pro/Am I/II/III
Ok, I know there are many threads on the topic of the limited run Pro/Ams by Chattanooga Customs. I'd like to get the straight story on the Pro/Am I. I'm looking at buying one and I've found information on the Pro/Am II/III, but not one.
From what I know, its an 87 Formula, 5.0 HO carbed, M5. The owner stated it was the Pro/Am I which I had not previously heard of. Something about Corvette 350 parts being involved and an enlarged carb? Can someone please help me out? Thanks, Bryan.

typically speaking choo choo customs did only cosmetic changes. I am unaware of any mechanical upgrades. Also in 1987 there was the LG4 4bbl, they did not make an HO car, the last year for the HO was 86 and they almost all went to Canada for the players series.
If it is a Formula you can verify that with some basic research.
1) Formulas came with the buldge hood, as in my sig, they also would have come with the wrap around aero spoiler, like the one in our advertisers above "Ram Air Hood.com"
2) All 87 Firebirds that I have owned have decals that match the VIN. The placements are as follows:
- the hood is on the underside in the front
- The front fenders you can sometimes see through the opening in front of the wheels, (get a flashlight)
- The doors are located in the jamb, THe drivers side is actually on a larger sticker with other information
- the rear quarters you have to remove the spare tire, and get behind the cardboard basket on the drivers side
- the rear hatch is on the bottom of the hatch in the rear.
-There are some others that you can see if you lay on your back, they sometimes peak out from the edges of the bumpers.

Yea, I think what he meant was its a 305 motor but it came with the larger carb off the 350, which was a vette motor...I like the double bulge hood of the Pro/Ams. Was it just the double buldge hood, woodgrain interior, graphics and # plate that were added in the package?

Matter of fact, I believe the only carbed SBC 350 car was the Caprice in 1987, except Trucks and Vans, As a matter of history the last year for a carburated vehicle made by GM was 1990...
Just because it peaked my interest, as a completely side note, in:
1985 of the 31 engines produced by GM for Automobiles (not trucks) 12 of them were carburated, 3 diesel,
1986 33 engines, 9 of them were carburated, 2 diesel,
1987 29 engines, 10 carbs, 0 diesel
1988 31 engines, 8 carbs
1989 30 engines 3 carbs
1990 27 engines 2 carbs
1991 26 engines 0 carbs
But thats a side note

Anything is possible, considering its about 29 years old...
I do know that the Quadrajet that was on my 305 87 Formula was larger than the Quadrajet on my dad's 350 86 Van...
