? about 1992 B4C's
I had someone say they knew of a '92 6-spd L98 B4C and I saw something mentioned about them on the internet.....then I asked this person where they got their info and they gave me this link........
http://www.camaro3rdgen.20m.com/1992.html
It mentions (as did the article I found) a "ZF 6-spd" used in the 1992 B4C's with the 350 TPI...........fact or fiction? Anyone have anything to back it up? I was under the impression that NO 6-speeds were available on the F-Body until the 4th Gens (1993)
Anyone? Anyone?

The information on that site is partially correct. The original plans were to have 602 RS looking 1992 Z28s produced. It was to model the 67 Z28 that had no external Z28 badging. The program was going to offer the cars with a 6 speed, but the entire project was scrapped. Only 2 of the cars were produced as prototypes and only one exists today. Unfortunately, the one that exists today is no longer in it's prototype image. No 3rd gens were ever factory available with the 6 speed tranny. A few Firehawks were fitted with it, but they aren't factory in 92. The special features of the B4C is that they are the only RS models that could be equipped with a 350. All 350 equipped cars were autos.

Thanks, I thought I had heard of the possiblity of them making 6-spd cars back in the day ('91 or '92) but I never heard that they actually did it. If you (or anyone) has a link confirming this, I would be most grateful

The original white one from the magazine articles, the one that was in the GM musem (Traxion had pictures of it from a car show ... or I thought that was him), was destroyed last year. I recall the other one was painted yellow and used as a test mule (some mag article).
Not sure if either are around anymore.
I have pictures of the white one being cut up. The engine (corvette, prototype intake, etc.) was sold to a rod shop outside North America.
Mark.

You mean to tell me GM scrapped the Collector's edition camaro but somehow they still got the IROC-Z concept car? Werid I thought both would be untouched.
I always had the idea of making a replica of the Collectors edition, might still do it now since the 2 don't exist. But this won't be until sometime in the far future.
Sad news about those 2.
Like they said though, only them 2 where 6 speeds 350 ever made. Probably the only 2 6speeds of any 3rd gen. If i remeber right the plans where for it to be the base B4C then corvette head and other mods which was around 270 hp, 6 speed manual, WS6 suspension, GTA rims, White with heritage edition stripes.
It can be found in this site homepage of Tech data around in the history of 92.

why would they destroy it!?! and if i was a magazine, and got ahold of a 1 of 2 i would freaking leave it alone! heck a TTA (one of 1550) is worth ten grand in ok condition, a 1 of 2 would go for almost it's original price to the right collector. morons....
