Would may car have had it factory being a iroc 350 tpi?

Would have had "it" being the Z28 "tuned port injection" dash emblem?

You got me looking at my 1985 Z28 with the TPI engine. Its dash emblem says Z28 in shades of reddish orange with Tuned Port Injection in a yellowish orange color under it.
But my 1985 1C5 California IrocZ with the same TPI engine has different colors on the dash emblem. It also says Z28 in shades of reddish orange with Tuned Port Injection in the same reddish orange as the Z28 part of the emblem and not the yellowish orange like my 1985 Z28's. It also does not say Irocz under the Z28 on the emblem, but Tuned Port Injection in the same reddish orange color as the Z28 part of the emblem. Is this only unique to the 1C5 California Irocz?
I'll remove the one off my 1985 Z28 and hold it next to the one on my 1985 1C5 California IrocZs dash emblem and get a picture so you can see the difference. They are both original emblems.

Re: Dash Emblem Collection

From what I can tell the differences in the colors were probably due to manufacturing, i.e. ink suppliers, machinery etc. and not so much something that was deceided on a GM desk. The variations are just too slight to think they were going for a different shade, I mean, whats the point. Some of mine are from the same model and year and they have slight differences in color.

Just look at the rocker panel emblems on the 1985 Z28s they have 3 shades of silver, gray, or charcoal and each one has a different stock number!
Someone at a GM desk decided that these 1C5 California IrocZs also wouldn't have IrocZ under the Z28 in the dash emblem even though they have RPO B4Z which are all the IrocZ options and excluded the RPO 1C5 options with a credit. If you go to all the trouble to leave off part of a logo why not a slight color difference in that logo? I'm just asking if anyone else has noticed a color difference in the Z28/Tuned Port Injection dash emblems?

Re: Dash Emblem Collection

In your picture I cannot differentiate any color difference. But that might be because of the computer monitor etc.. But I doubt that there is a different emblem for the 1C5 Irocz. They deceided to use the Z28 TPI emblem. Were the LG4 and the L69 available with the 1C5? I don't see them running a different shade of color for a limited number of cars. I just don't see GM being that technical.

Got the owners manual too, double score!!!
They crushed a TGP and you let it happen? I used to be a W Body nut and I would've killed for one of those, I'd still give a lot for one.
Sorry for the hi jack
Pretty stellar collection of emblems! Hats off to you

None of the 1985 1C5 California Iroczs were available with the LG4 or the L69 engines. They were only available with the LB9 TPI 305 engine which is significant. They all had automatic transmissions with 3.42 rear differentials with no posi. Go to my thread, What is the RPO code Z5V on my 1C5 IROC? This will have more details about the car. It may be paint differences, but the dash logo off of a 1985 Z28 I have is yellowish orange where it says Tuned Port Injection and the one on my 1985 1C5 California IrocZ is reddish orange were it says Tuned Port Injection. One of several unique features on the 1C5 California IrocZs was the fact that they "only" came with the TUNED PORT INJECTION engine and no other engines as you could have a number of combinations on all other IrocZs with the RPO B4Z IrocZ option.
