Mecham Aero Tail Spoiler

I found what I think is a Mecham aero tail wing in a recent trip to the local self service wrecking yard. It was in decent shape so I picked it up. Now one of my fbody friends wants it, but I don't know what a fair price would be. People seem to either love these wings or hate them and the price tags I've seen border on insane. So what do you think, what is this thing worth? The one I found looks like the one in this link: http://www.cardomain.com/ride/774053/2

Thanks
Mike

check out my cardomain page , i have two of them , one wing and all the mecham stuff from a ratty mecham . They only made about 650 cars so i would have to imagine their are less than 1000 wings ever made. So i bet you could get like 300 easy for it . Look how much the factory aero wings in fiberglass are , they are 400 . Do you have a pic of it and what condition is it in .

I'll get some pictures of it tonight and post them tomorrow. I will also give it a good look over and post the condition. From what I remember it was solid overall with no structural problems. There was dime sized bubble in the gelcoat in one corner. No chips that I can remeber. It has been repaint with and ugly cream color over red. More tomorrow.

Buffaloman, stay tuned, I'll get back to you.

alright, with the help of both Dennis Mecham, and my lovely girlfriend, i have a BRAND NEW Mecham spoiler headed to my house. by the way it sounds, those of you with used ones better drop your prices Big time. i could have had more of these than i would have known what to do with for $1000. i guess i leaned that you should always go directly to the source

Actually, I have 2 of them brand new in the box sitting here in addition to the ones I am selling. I guess it helps to know him and live 3 miles from where he does. Anyway, Ive sold many of them for the prices I ask. So if people keep paying the prices, im not going to lower them.

im so frustrated with mine right now i would almost give it away. im not sure if there all like this but i recieved mine brand new directly from Mecham and it has been a disaster... first of the "flat" part has more curves than jessica simpson, the wrap around parts hit the 1/4 pannels before the petastools hit the hatch lid and as a result the studs are also way to short and even if they were long enough they wouldn't lign up with, or cover, the holes from the base wing it is suposed to replace. my awsome gift from my loving girlfriend (who has quite a figure herself) has become one big headache and disaster. i really want to see it put on, and i feel obligated, as it was a gift but it looks like it is going to just end up looking like a hack job no manner what...i just want to cry

im afraid not. the return address was from Mecham design in AZ and the recipt states the same. i have also talked to Dennis Mecham directly about the issues. it is deffenatly the real thing. its honestly just my luck. this spring i got my front end repainted and the day i got it back the car was backed over in a paking lot...
