Where to find a gas tank float cheap?

gas tank float? for like the fuel sending unit? if so good luck.. that part (sending unit assembly) was discontinued from gm.. only people who make it now is ACDelco and man are they crazy expensive for 3rd gen stuff.. If you can find one in a salvage yard or what not and it works that could save you money.. else f you want it to for sure work, you can send in the whole unit to Year one and they will rebuild it and test it so you know for sure it works like it should.
ACDelco replacement Sending unit = 400 to 500
Year one rebuild = 150

Um....you can get them seperately from the dealer. They are like $8. I know, I work for GM.

Well, if your gage sits on the "F" mark, I doubt its the float. If the float was sinking or missing, the arm on the sending unit would fall to the bottom of the tank and the gage would sit at "E". You either have a sending unit problem, a problem with the gage, or a problem in the wiring. Disconnect the harness to the sending unit, and see where the gage is at.
