1989 IROC-Z VIN Question
If the 8th digit of the VIN is E, can it still be an IROC? There's one in the autotrader, claims it's L98 with ttops. It has everything, 145 speedo, IROC decals, all the badging. The engine looks like an L98.. but the only thing that has me skeptical is the VIN number. I thought all IROCs had either F or 8 8th digit vin numbers?

Car: 1989 Firebird Formula
Engine: Internal Combustion
Transmission: Completed
Axle/Gears: ones that turn.
An IROC could also have G or H for an engine code in addition to F, 8, or E depending on the year and the V8's offered.
If it's a TPI engine, then it has either had the induction (or more) swapped over, or the VIN isn't correct for the vehicle - maybe it has been switched instead?

Nevermind.. I just ran a carfax on it.. it has a rebuilt/salvage title, odometer rollback and was originally the L03.

Stay away from that if you wish, he said he would take $5000
