Emblems on 92 RS "heritage"

Just a question for the experts. I'm a new owner of a 3rd gen camaro. The side "RS" emblems are silver. The rear "RS" bumper emblem is red. Does anyone know if they came out this way? The car is white with red stripes.

I don't know what color emblems went on what color cars, but I do know that they were all a uniform color - they weren't mismatched like that.

My guess is that, on a white car, the emblems were probably all silver; red emblems sound appropriate for the black cars, although I can't substantiate this.

I'm not sure what they were suppose to be for sure,...but I do know that mine is a red/black stripe heritage,..and it has the same thing yours does. Silver on the sides, red on the back. I'm not the original owner of the car,...but I do know for a fact that the car is in original condition and never wrecked. Why they are like this I'm not sure. I've got some other heritage pics on file,..and in some of those they are all the same. Maybe someone can help out that may know for sure.

Maybe I'm wrong, then...it would be surprising, however, if the emblems are different colors from the factory. That would be rather unusual. Now I'm curious to know if this is really the case - anybody else know a definitive answer?

I'm not sure....

I spoke with the 2nd owner who had purchased the car with 20,000 miles stated he had not change the emblems. I want to restore the car and have already purchased GM emblems to go back on but got to thinking that the cars may not have come out this way.

It's always possible that the Heritage Package cars were different with respect to emblems; my '92 RS was a plain Anniversary model that was black with silver emblems all the way around.

The original poster was referring to the rocker and rear panel emblems - not the deck emblem. Just a heads-up

Ah, my bad. Consider my post retracted

I believe that they were all the same color. It there were other factory colored emblems it would be news to me.

Hey Digital,....it's kinda tough to tell for sure,...but in your sig,...it looks like your rockers have silver,...and in the pic,...your backside has red. Can you clarify?

The emblems that I bought came as a direct replacement from GM. They are still silver and black.

As for purchasing the deck emblem new, I was under the impression that no one makes a replica of this piece and it is becoming increasingly difficiult to find. I would pretty much just check ebay and your local bone-yards until you find one.

If someone knows a company that produces these, I would be interested in finding out about them.

So your saying

Did you change the color of your rocker panel emblems from red to silver? Your rear RS emblem is Red correct? Can you confirm that Chevrolet did send some cars out with mixed colored emblems. Excluding the 25th anniversary badge on the hatch.

Well since I have a white with red stripes Z03 in my driveway right now, I should probably give my input. I am positive that the rocker emblems are supposed to be silver, with the rear bumper badge being red. This is the way it came on the Z03 CARS ONLY! The other "anniversary models" (every 92' model) had the same color badges all the way around.

EDIT: I also would like to know if anyone makes a repo deck lid badge. Mine is getting pretty beat up.

Thanks

I thought mine was correct. I've seen the hatch badges on Ebay. Either new or like new over the past couple weeks.

The thinking of the mismatched badges on just the Z03 cars has only one catch that I can think of. Don't get me wrong, I can agree with what was said, and I can also say that I'm happy with what I've heard. I'm glad I'm not the only one with the so called mismatched badges. Ok enuff rambling. The catch being.....the green/gold,....purple/silver combos that are out there. I know for a fact that they don't have red on the back. So what combination do they have? If they are all silver,...then the only Z03 car theory doesn't add up. So what about it? Anyone with the purple and green Z03. Let's hear it.

Another question?

Can some of you with "heritages" post pictures of the emblem on the nose. I'm not sure if they are different. I'm not sure my is correct. Thanks.

I saw this post and it caught my attention. I worked for a Chevrolet dealer in '92 and took MANY pics of '92 Camaros we received. Going through the archives this is what I found.

White w/heritage appearance pkg RPO Z03 (red stripes) Rocker panel and rear bumper cover emblems are red.
White w/o heritage appearance pkg rocker panel and rear bumper cover emblems are silver. This applies to both RS and Z28's and does not matter to what color interior the car has.

Let us see them!

I haven't seen alot, but, what I've seen on the white zo3 ones is the silver rocker and the red on the rear bumper. I guess it doesn't really matter. It's not like they are really worth any more to restore I guess.

Whether its worth restoring or not doesn't mean you shouldn't make it what you want it to be. Chances are,...no they aren't gonna be worth anything more than any other 92 model, but if you desire having a beautiful 3rd gen Camaro that is in show room condition to take out and show. I say do it to it and give us all something nice to look at.
