86 Camaro, LG4, 700R4, pwr windows... worth $400?
There's a car for sale in the back lot of a dealer, and I'm going to get it. I just want to make sure it's worth it!
Goods:
1986 Camaro
305 4bbl LG4
700R4
15" Cragar SS rims
New white letter tires
New brakes
Power windows
Power hatch release and pull down
T-tops
Silver repaint (Maaco quality, but not bad)
New windshield
Grey interior
Had A/C, compressor missing (it robs SO much hp
)
All emissions untouched
New plugs
New 8mm wires
Tight suspention
Quiet, tight steering
Shifts really smooth, no hesitation
Only rust is on driver's door
Pioneer 4x6" and 6x9" speakers
Bads:
Motor smokes like crazy (blue)
Motor has rocker arm rapping
Motor idles (at 1200rpm) like someone with parkinsons
Oil pressure gauge is all over the place
Needs headliner
Needs rear speaker covers
No radio
A/C compressor missing
Exhaust leak at pipe-muffler weld
Wipers don't come on (move up a little, then settle back down??)
Alternator might be on it's way out
Is it worth it? I have a rebuilt 350 that's built up to go in, so the motor stuff doesn't really matter.

It doesn't really matter to my friend if it's a Z28, Iroc, RS, SC, etc. , but I know that I'd never own one! (then I'd have to swap over all the Iroc stuff 
)
It doesn't have ground effects... and it just looks so naked to me!

Well, it's mine! Here's a few pics:
It needs a motor... bad. Smokes like crazy and it idles at about 600rpm... and it feels and sounds like an earthquake! Otherwise it seems really good, all options work (fast windows!!!?)

Looks like a good starting point and with a clean interior too. Noticed the car has the optional gage pkg (RPO U21) thats a good thing! Good score for $400.00.

That motor looks like it's been through a lot. A number of things look out of place compared to mine (same engine and year). Still a great find for $400 since you have a motor for it.

well, my friend needs cash, and doesn't want to do the swap anymore! sigh. The car is now listed in the classifieds, and includes 82-92 shorty headers that are heat wrapped too!

Been there! My 84 Z28 was a parts car for a guy... let's just say that car cost more than I expected to fix!
