4th gen Iroc

I was watching the season finally of the Soprano's tonight and this guys driveing a 4th gen Camaro with Iroc decals on the doors.
As much money as that show has made you think they could of left the decals off or used a real Iroc.
The good news is this same guy gets beat up later in the show but the Iroc wannabe eats a brick wall.

I'm glad it was a 4th gen they used. I wouldn't wanna see a Iroc eat a wall. At least they used a plain Camaro and not a Z-28.

Chevy and IROC terminated the contract that allowed Chevy to use the IROC name, in exchange for supplying the cars for the series, as of Jan 1, 1990. Chevy's opinion was that the racing series didn't fit their needs, as there was little point in sponsoring an expensive series where Chevys only raced other Chevys. (Dumb move IMO, considering how good of a job they did marketing the "IROC" package on the Z28.... kind of the opposite of how Pontiac has paid SCCA for the Trans Am name all these years, even before they had a car they could run in them, and there's a hell of alot more people that know about the car than about the races) Therefore there is no such thing as a "4th gen IROC", if it's a Camaro.

IROC's contract went to those stupid little Dodge Daytona things next, and then Firebirds; although I haven't been able to watch any of those races this year so I don't know what they're running now.

They did make a 4th gen IROC...it was a WS6 Trans Am. Although they didn't make a IROC package available to the public like the Camaro or Daytona.

And the IROC R/T was a pretty stout little performer. 14.4 in the quarter is nothing to sneeze at. I had a Spirit R/T and it ran 14.5 the only time I had it to the track. Not too shabby for a 4 door family car...SLEEPER

I know all about the fact that 90 was the last year for the Iroc, will the Camaro version anyway, I've owned 2 a 86 and 89. I just thought it was funny they had Iroc decals on a 4th gen Camaro, just like it would of been odd if they had used a 4th gen bird with GTA emblems on it.

Call me stupid but I didn't make the Italian+Iroc connection.

Not trying to steal the thread, but there was nothing uncessary said, only in humor...someone needs to lighten up!

I've seen two 4th gen "IROCs" in my town. One has IROC door decals and the other has IROC wheels which stick out ridiculously far from the body due to the different offset of 3rdgen and 4thgen wheels.
