T-Tops?

T-Tops?
I know this may sound dumb, but why are they called T-Tops, they dont' form a T shape if anything they form an H shape! Does anyone know why they are called T-Tops

I believe that the "T", in t-top, is refering to the shape of the roof with the glass removed, and viewed from the top, looking forward, from the rear.
With the windshield header forming the horizonal part of the "T", and the part of the roof that remains between the glass, forms the vertical part of the "T".
Think back to the 2nd gen cars, when the area between the glass was body color, and it might make sence.
But that's just me, call it what ever makes you happy
