Rare T/A????
I bought my '86 T/A about a year ago. I am wondering about things that don't make sense with it, and maybe someone can help me out. Hopefully. OK...the engine code is "F" and it is a TPI car with a 700 tranny, that's fine, but it has a Borg Warner rear with supposedly 2.77 gears. The wheel and tire combo is supposed to be 16x8 w/ 245/50VR16...that's what it says on the tag in the door. I think some jerk pulled the RPO code sticker off because i can't find it, anywhere! The car is supposed to have these things, but it doesn't...2 questions---1, why would someone do that, am i missing something...2, how can i get the RPO codes for that car? i really need to know everything about it. i have more info if anyone is interested in helping me....please?

Rare? No. I have one like that sitting in my driveway on a regular basis. Well... mine has a 3.27 rear, but many had the 2.77 as well.
My RPO list is long gone too. It may have vanished when the car was stolen years ago.
Try contacting Pontiac Historical Services, they can probably help you out. The link I dont know, but its in many posts here or someone might put it up for you.

You will never find a listing of cars that were red, T-top, trans am, 4bbl, 5 speed for example. The best you will find is # of red Firebirds, # with T-tops, # with LG4, # with 5 speed.

the RPO sticker is sometimes in the rear stoarge compartment lid. A lot of people don't look there. I've also seen them in the center console arm rest lid.
If you can't find it, you should be able to take your VIN to a GM dealer and have them run it.

F-body RPO locations:
From 82-83 under hood, it was a metal plate
84? - mid 1991 in center console
mid 91 - 92 rear hatch compartment door.
