What's this IROC worth?

1988 Iroc, 350, performance axle, posi, oil cooler, no t-tops, black cloth seats, 4 wheel disk, 16" factory rims, white with red trim, iroc option package 3 (pw, pdl, tilt, cruise, etc), 60k miles, and it very excellent condition, garage kept. All options verified via window sticker and carfax is clean.

Seller wants $8,500, but that seems a little high to me. Anyone here have thoughts, or know where to get values.

Thanks, Mike Jones

Compared with non iroc cars I'd say that this is worth $8,500 but you can get them for nearer the $5,000 mark. I paid $4,500 for my car which is a 95,000mile equivalent of what you describe.

If this car is as clean as you say, it may be worth $8,500. All depends on if you need to do anything to it when you get it. That includes coolant flush, hoses, brakes, brake fluid, fuel filter, etc. If all maintenance has been done to factory specs or better, and if you know it has not been abused, then $8,500 is a fair asking price. From there you should be able to negociate down $500 to $1,000. If comparing prices to ebay, you need to consider this car is not halfway across the country. TTops would make the $8,500 a better deal, but it's up to you if TTops matter. I think right now the prices are going to be all over the place because of borderline collectibility status, but in the not too distant future prices will easily be in that range. Go for it. The original 350 cars will only get harder to come by.

I wouldn't put much faith in CarFax... i checked my VIN, and it was clean... my car's been stolen 3 times.
