How much rear can a good rear rear if a good rear could rear rear? This will probably be moved. You can find any car you want if you look hard enough and long enough. Especially if its rear.

You think it's hard finding a 87-90, don't feel bad.

A few years ago I bought a factory YELLOW '92 Formula w/ 5 spd and 305 TPI. Complete with 4wheel discs, 3.42 posi, AND T-top. And it had BLACK LEATHER interior. Had just over 70k 2 owner miles on it. Picked it up cheap with a fried clutch. Did NOT want to sell it, but ended up moving my shop and had no place to put it. Friend of mine KEPT bugging me to sell it and I did...for a healthy profit. Later that year he got drunk, hit second gear too hard on a corner, IN the RAIN, and spun the thing into a concrete drainage ditch. The idiot sold it for dirt cheap w/o letting me know...

DOH!!!

I've been looking for another 91-92 Formula w/ the 305 TPI / 5 speed for awhile now. I'm almost convinced that it's *** working against me.

Last year I spent 6 months looking for a nice, ORIGINAL 91-92 Z with T-tops....everything I saw was either a trailer queen or complete garbage. Ended up buying a Monte SS w/ T-tops. TWO WEEKS after I bought the SS, a LOCAL couple put their '91 Z28 5 spd T-top car up for sale. 60k odd original miles. That pretty blue color too....I found out about it, went to look at it and the guy had just left with...price? $3800

I've mainly messed with older musclecars, but always had a fond spot for 3rd gens, way back since I owned a stripper '89 IROC 1LE car... ( NO I don't have it, and NO ONE knew they'd be that collectible...heck, it had no AC is why the sales manager gave me such a screamin' deal on it in '91 )

I'm not ACTIVELY looking, but if the right car comes along who knows..

Good luck, and that black Formy in the classifieds looks nice.

You have NO idea how badly I want a Yellow 92 TPI Formula... Would prefer a 350 t-top car, but I doubt it exists...

I guess I should add, I have an 87 Formula T-top 5 speed TPI car

I got the whole yellow thing goin' on.:lala:

Here is some information on 1987 I dug up a long time ago... I wondered about the accuracy, and I found its pretty close to the "Standard Catalog of Firebird 1967-1992" Gunnell uses percentages, and they work out about right.

How many 87 Formulas had certain engines
We know that ONLY the Firebird came with a V6, (Formula, TA & GTA did not have this engine option) So we can eliminate 34,914 Firebirds having a V8, leaving 7638 Firebirds with the LG4 (The base firebird was not available with TPI)
That leaves 18322 Formulas and T/A's with the LG4
According to http://www.geocities.com/MotorCity/D...POFigures.html The T/A & GTA's combined had the following production: 12,402 5.0L (LB9) and 7818 5.7L (L98)'s That leaves:
5667 Formulas had the 5.0 (LG4) 4bbl
3931 Formulas had the 5.0 (LB9) TPI
3562 Formulas had the 5.7 (L98) TPI

12655 T/A's with the LG4
9124 T/A's with TPI 305 or 350

Transmissions:

Since the M5 was not available with the 350, that leaves 65,871 Automatics for the lesser engines. Again according to http://www.geocities.com/MotorCity/D...POFigures.html there were 27,007 Automatics between the GTAs & T/As, that leaves a total of 50244 Automatics for the Firebird and Formula. 5868 GTAs & T/As with a Manual Transmissions, That leaves 5468 Manual Transmissions for the Formula & Firebird.
