Rpo Y11

Ran thru the decoder and comes up as:
Y11 : RING GEAR, 10.50 IN., DANA (S.P.O )

But on my Dealer Invoice it states "VIP Plus Pkg"

What would be the "Very Important Person Plus Package?"

An extra $17.25 was paid for this option... Whoever ordered the car must not have been too important to be charged an extra $17.25, for something that seems trivial...

It's got something to do with a roadside service package that was available back then. I think you got free towing if you broke down under warrenty.

The PHS documentation for my 88 Formula also listed the VIP option. It was as stated an optional package that offered roadside assistance and (i think) a loaner when your car was in for service.

I don't doubt that this RPO turns up different things, I beleive that it depends on the year. GM recycles

Okfoz,

After I did my post, I got curious and started doing a search of various sites that list RPO codes. I ran into several that listed the Dana Ring Gear for Y11. I also ran into several that had several other descriptions for it. The description that I gave came out of a GM RPO code manual. I guess your best bet would be to go to your local dealership and give them the VIN and ask them what it is.
