Camaro w/Factory woodgrain??

My brother owns a '85 Camaro Z/28. The interior is the coolest (besides the Berlinetta) that I've ever seen in a Camaro. There is woodgrain in the center consol, around the gauges and door locks.... He bought it off of the original owner, who said that its always been in there. (it doesnt look like that aftermarket sh** either!) Anyone have any info on this?? Wish I had a picture...

It's all aftermarket and put in by a previous owner.

It's aftermarket. These accessories were never put on by the factory. It's possible the dealer added them.

it could have been done by the dealer, they did that to my girlfriends mountianer, the dealer added it as one of their custom options and added it to the sticker price

It must have been from the dealer then... the screws holding it on to the consol and on the doors are the GM hex-screws. The script Z/28 on the dashboard is surrounded by it too. I'll try to get a picture up soon.

i dont believe it is aftermarket but im not gonna put any money on it. my friend bought a very nice origonal 84 camaro ZF last year. the ZF is just a glorified sport coupe with F41 suspension and ZF badges. that had the wood grain in it u were talking about. i think it was an option or it might have just been on the ZF camaros.

I had a wood grain laminate that was on the gauge cluster, under the locks, and on the right side of the dash just like you're saying....
Is it actual real wood or just a "sticker"? I already peeled mine off, I like it better all black and metallic colors

The ZF was a regional package on the base Camaro. There is no such thing as a factory ZF. The dealers involved in creating this package included the wood grain as part of the ZF option. They "created" the ZF this way.
