$84,000 for a 1990 1LE on ebay?
Ok, I don't usually post this sort of stuff ... but this is extreme.
I don't have numbers on the 1990 1LE production or not. Isn't this car "just a 1LE"? Not to diminish the 1LE package, but that is all it is. No rare engines or exotic components or race history.

And .. ZR1 brakes no less ... :-)
Mark.

Well first, theres no "just a 1LE" they were rare no matter how you look at it, 2nd the auction seems to be for 2 of them, and very low miles on them, if i had $84k i'd buy em in a heartbeat.

My point in saying "just a 1LE" is that they are NOT a COPO as in the 60's COPO camaros. Actually these 1LE's are not SCCA cars either as they are just brand new off the showroom cars. Unless there is documentation to justify that the cars were indeed part of some race program that GM ran.
Yes it is two cars, but still $42,000 for a no mile car is quite expensive. If I had no end of money, perhaps I might be temped. If I only had $84,000 to spend, I buy something else.
Still interesting none the less.

Someone is trying to more than double the original price of the cars. I would think he'd be lucky to get sticker for each. And that would be a lot of luck...

Yeah, cool cars but no one will bid on them- there just isn't that high of a demand for them. At that price these would be way down on my list of cars to buy... after oh, ZR-1, Z06, etc. They also obviously have no idea of how to run an auction on ebay- $84k starting bid?

Far too high a price for a car like that. I could buy a Dodge Viper for 30,000 save 12,000 and make the 1LE look like it was standing still.

Maybe $20K each, TOPS. They are brand new IROCS.
But $42,000??? I have seen 20 mile Turbo Trans Ams sell for less than $20,000.
This guy will be sitting on these cars for a looooong time at that price.

<shivers> it still has the white dust stuff ON THE BELT!!!
I would never want those cars though. Think I'm insane? No; I just would never drive them, never mod them, etc. I'd be too affraid to damge the cars, or break something. I want something that I can beat on and mod as much as I want!!
Also... why does one have a radio?

I could not agree with you more. It's like if you had a number's matching ZL1 camaro ... why would you drive it? It's like taping money to the outside of your car and driving 100 miles an hour ... you hope the money is still there when you stop.
If we all were rediculously rich ... heck ya. Stock pile the cars.
I'd prefer one to drive and enjoy.
Mark.

For that kind of money you could get yourself a low miles Ferrari Testarosa, and still have a little left over... let-me-see in 20 years from now the Testarosa WILL have value, the 1LE, will have value, but more people with money will be looking for the Testarosa to drive
People that are really rich and can afford to drom 84K on a car or 2 are not going to buy a Camaro, unless its that wacko that bought the Yenko an the Barett Jackson Auction.
84K? ummmmmmmmmmmmmmmm no...
