86z or iroc
I just bought a 86 camaro. It originally came with a carbed 305 but now has a 350. But anyways, it has Iroc suspension and wheels and the 145 speedo. Im not sure if it is a iroc or not. Its that dark maroon color. Ive never seen a z28 painted that color or come with a 145 speedo. I still need to run the rpos, but whose to say that the glovebox lid is original? I was wondering if someone could maybe shed some light on the situation. Thanks

Oh boy.... so far, almost every bit of information is incorrect. Let me set this straight for the record.
THE ONLY CARBED IROC'S WERE 5 SPEEDS .
Not correct. The no-cost base Z28 engine in 1986 was the 305 carb (LG4) and there were no transmission restrictions with this engine. The 5-speed was the no-cost base and the auto was an option. I, in fact, owned a 1987 IROC-Z convertible once. It came equipped with a 305 carb (LG4) and auto and have the original window sticker to prove it.
Well Zs (non 91-92) were two toned, IROCs were one color.
True, but who's to say whether the car has been partially or completely repainted... As old as these cars are today, you cannot make this assumption.
B4C
That would be B4Z. B4C (police package) was not used in the '80s on Camaros. B4Z is the optional IROC-Z package in 1985 thru 1987.
oh yeah, the RPO sticker will have the VIN on it. If the VIN matches and you have code B4C you have an IROC
Correct, except replace B4C with B4Z.
Now, let me address your orignal statements:

How do you know what suspension you have? You cannot visually tell the difference, except for the inclusion of the Wonderbar on IROC-Z's.
It's also possible that you have a Z28 without the IROC-Z option. Late 1986 Z28's (with and without the IROC-Z option) were equipped with a 145-mph speedo.
Im not sure if it is a iroc or not.
Look for the tire sticker in the driver's door jamb. It will list the original tire size and load ratings. If it lists a 16-inch tire, you've got an IROC-Z. If it's a 15-incher, it's a Z28.
Its that dark maroon color.
Again, we cannot use this information to authenticate.

As before, the SPID sticker also lists the VIN. Match it and you'll know it's original.

i thought IROCs (85-87) were RPO B4Z and IROCs(88-90) were Z28?
edit: should have read Willie's post first

Well in all seriousness I am asumming it is stock paint, I mean if we are assuming other wise it could be all not stock, and turn out to be a SC or something. I am just informing him on the fact that two tones are Z28s and IROC-Zs are one color.
