1984 15th anniversary Trans Am

Hello everyone, I just bought a 1984 15th anniversary Edition Trans Am. I need to ask some questions about this car. Is this car really that rare, I would like to know if I should go custom or stay stock. It is definantly a project car needs new paint, decals and interior needs alot of work, also the engine runs good but is due for a rebuild. Also does anyone know what the 305 H.O Trans Ams run stock in the 1/4th? I heard it was pretty bad but I think new headers and muffler should help that a little. The car has an Accell HEI super coil and Posi. any information you can give will be appreciated, Thanks.

Congrats on the 15th!!! I would rebuild to factory. I have a 84 with the HO. I used to have a Accel HEI Super Coil. I was far from impressed. I now have a Hypertech Street/Strip 53,000volt Coil.rotor, cap set up.I am inpressed with it. The T/A ran smoother and had more well....u know The 15th runs 16 sec. down the 1/4. Congrats again and very good find. Now lets see him.

That's pretty good! What do you have for a rear end ratio?

I have a few magazine road test of the 15th--most are low to mid 15's in the 1/4--except for Road and Track who got a 16.5! But they can't drive

500 cars were 5 speed and 1000 were automatics. All had 3.73's.
Keep the car stock, esp the exterior...don't see to many around these days.

Sweet ride. A buddy of mine has a 15th/5speed. The previous owner added Edlebrock headers/chip/cat-back/rejetted carb
car sounds very mean and pulls quite nicely.

It's actaully the nicest or 2nd nicest f-body I have ever driven.:hail:

Yeah, I'm putting the Holley Pro-Jection 4D setup on mine this weekend. Ive had all I can take of this CC Q-Jet. As for originality, I say to build the car the way you want it...not to impress anyone else. If its not how you like it, then why own it? Just my opinion. Im curious to see how many 15th anniversary cars are left.
