They'll never make one to my liking.

Sophistication of a 4th gen!! bwahaahah! Yeah, the sophistication of crappy power windows, creaks and rattles, pain in the butt tuning, $$$ for parts, and basicly the same set up as a thirdgen, only for 20k more!! YOUR OUT OF YOUR MIND!! going the direction of the 4th gen would mean death for the 2nd time.

ok now that i read your little plan...
#1, no such thing as a v-4...well there is.. but most are In line 4's.
#2 NO MORE 4 BANGERS IN FBODES EVER OK?
#3 Free PDA for tuning? Are you for real?
#4 A 5SPD MAN!! You have got to be kidding me
... i could go on, but i have class in 5 mins.
Dude, get out of dream land please.
Screw modular engines... GM does fine with push rods
Your ideas are great for a world were stuff doesnt cost anything. A car like that would tip the scale and would not be affordable.

OK John you did bring up some good ideas. But some of those will never happen.
GM will never go back down to a 5 speed (6 speed all the way). GM will never put a 4 cyl. back into an F-body (At least if there is a G0D in heaven). And Standard Bolts??? Yea right, That would be a terrible idea. I would love to see the US drop the whole Standard system and adopt the Metric system like the rest of the world. Staying on the Standard system is like refusing to buy a gasoline car because you like your old steam powered car too much.
I would like to see GM design an engine family that is totally interchangable (But it will never happen).
I just hope they bring the Camaro Back!!!!!!!

Ok guys, please note. this thread asked for your ideas, not a critique of mine.
And, please understand about the standard size tools issue, I was driving before you guys were born, and had my 3rd gen since you were about 5 years old or so (got it Dec. 17, 1987), so I'm more than a little old fashioned compared to most on the board. It took me about 10 years or so to get over the tragedy that cars have computers on them !

"but when you put your ideas on a message board people are going to comment"
good point, I knew there was a reason I only had 5 posts after two years.
This is a great place for information, but not particularly hospitable to a different point of view from the norm.

Wasn't out to insult just tell you some of the ideas you had were a little far fetched.
