Camaro Stereo's Available in 1989

Ok, here is an interesting topic, I know some may think this should be in the Audio Forum, for me this is more of a history/resoration item. The Optional CD Player (U1C) that was available in 1989 Camaros. It's different than the one available in the same year firebird & 90-92 Camaros. My white book says that over two thousand where sold in Camaros. I've never actually seen one with the EQ on it.. Does anyone have one in their Car?? Now why it was different I'm not sure.. But I'm determined to find one is tip-top condition. Yet another interesting tid bid is this Deck must have been available only after July 1989, because my 89 Brochure doesn't show the CD Deck as an option. Where these original Decks decent for the era? Who knows.. only three where sold in 1990 Camaros.. it picked up after that. Now I don't know 100% sure if this deck with the EQ was the only style in 89, or if it was used for a while in 90. Or perhaps the picture I have in my shop manual is a earlier design and the actual one used in 89 is the same as the one used in the 89 Firebird & 90-92 Camaros. If there anyone here that can shed some light on all this? Or could it remain a mystery.

I saw the same deck in a 1990 Iroc-z vert I was looking at buying. Hard to believe that it was one of the three installed. The guy did say it was original, but i never checked the RPO codes and I didn't buy the car.

I've dealt with radios to a degree as I had an 84 Eldorado with the Bose that was converted to a conventional CD aftermarket, but as anyone who knows, knows....THAT can spell problems!
It was soooo much pain in the @ to correct I have not wanted to involve myself again, however my Bird has also caused me problems so it's on the back burner but mine was plain ole auto~reverse cassette, HOWEVER, two interesting things...Mine does have 5 band EQ, but more interesting.... it featured ALL push button control which is not something I see much of.

Another feature I don't think people notice is the availability of AM c-quam stereo on these.. Most have it and it's not an additional cost that I know of. Pretty keen

The owners manuals cover the different players and functions but mine's gone missing.
