Here's one I had tried to think of earlier...may have missed it mentioned somewhere on the site, but IIRC they mentioned having convertible tops for $200. I've seen another place auction them for $350 on eBay.

i actually live about 25 miles from them, i have been to thier shop, the transmission (700r4) in my firebird came from there.still working perfect and its been in the car 2 years now.i have actually seen the camaro convertible in thier add when just the shell was up on a rack, i have also seen the finished project and heard it run ,man what a ride that is. in person they are very friendly and helpful. i have also seen thier dyno in action ,very sweet. if anyone from 3rd gen resources is reading this i am the guy that you guys dogged out for driving my red 4x4 ford pick up there.i did drive my 87 convertible there one time. getting back to the subject though , great people with decent prices.

I knew this day would come when i moved to the south from pennsylvania, it's starting to rub off. first i started saying ya'll and know i can't spell whats next, oh my *** i just remembered, i have a pickup truck to, and its red. does that make mwe a red neck? just kidding i love the south. i traded the summer car shows and swap meets at carlisle ,for the food lion auto fairs at lowes motor speedway , both by the way a graet place to get those hard to get parts.

 

They have new tops for $200?

 

I haven't pursued that because of tight funds but someone mentioned a price close to that (I assume material only (with window) and I lost on my bid for a new front cowl.

Still scraping by thus far.
