89-90 RS Drawing
Hey guys,
I know technically this is not a "Historical" question, BUT! Since I am making the t-shirts I REALLY need to know if the cars are "Historically Accurate" Therefore I chose to let you history buffs tell me what you think, and what needs to be changed before I post them to CafePress...
Here is the 89-90 RS I just got done drawing, what do you think?
I KNOW It looks alot like the 88SC, because I used that car and changed the features, like the Spoiler...

This may or may not be a correct answer, but in regards to the center caps, my 90 model had black centers, and all the rest I've seen had black centers as well. You may have documentation to prove this otherwise. If you do, that's great. I know that's a picky suggestion, and probably irrelevent as well, but you did ask for suggestions. Other than that, I think everything looks wonderful. Very accurate rendention of a beautiful car. Very nice job indeed.

My Car originally had silver center caps with black ends that say Camaro. The front singnal lights seem a bit big in the pic.. and the line through the middle of it is not as dark.

I think the above comments are accurate. Clear parking lamps, black center caps...and body color wheels, if I'm not mistaken (as awful as they looked...lol...but I know that's what I had). I think the solid gray was on the Iroc &/or Z...the RS had body color in the spokes, with polished metal edges

From what I am seeing in my "Standard catalog of Camaro" the 82-87 Z28 got the black centercaps, but the 88SC & the 89-90 RS with gray wheels would get the gray centercaps, It is vey likely to be wrong tho...
IT may be if you got body color wheels on the RS then you would get black centercaps... I dont know... the ONLY RS's with body color wheels in my book was black with black wheels, it has black centercaps...
QUESTION: Would it be better with or without body color wheels? I personally don't care either way....

I remember that my black 89 RS had body color wheels, with black center caps. Additional, a buddy of mine had a white 89 RS, also with body color wheel and black center caps. For that fact, nearly every 3rd gen in the area that I saw had the Black center caps, I remember becuase I was always on the look out for "replacement" caps.

my rs has body color wheels, but the red wheels dont look good on the red car in my opinion, mine was black with black wheels and black center caps, but i do agree with the clear parking lights, mine are clear whether they are on or off (clear bulbs) the amber looks to much like is a older z28 with the silver rims

You are correct. The 89-90 RS and the 88 SC had silver center caps. The black ones went with the 91 and 92 models and the above mentioned color coded wheels. Keep them accurate!

SO If I make 2 89-90 RS Shirts, one would have gray wheels and a gray centercap, and the other would have Red wheels and a Black Centercap???

As for the the parking lamps the original pix from 89 & 90 I have show amber front lenses. I believe the color fades the lenses from sunlight. Fedral law states that when front markers are on they should glow Amber, so I am going to stick with Amber lights, I attempted to give the apperance like they were on.

that is when they are on, when they are off they are clear, either way thats still really good drawing, u don happen to wanna make one in quasur blue with impala ss rims do u? or the stock rims?

Eventually I will make custom colors, but right now I jsut want to get each car done, its a hge job and I really don't want to spend time on the special cars... But I probably will end up with all the colors eventually... It will take me a long time to do it tho...
